50 of a Kind

There’s a new event going on now – a chance to get limited time items that virtually nobody on the grid has. 50 of a Kind started Tuesday features 15 up and coming designers in SL who have created a new and exclusive item for which only 50 copies will exist EVER. Once they’re gone they’re gone . All items will be priced $200L or more. Items are out for 2 weeks until 9 am slt. Then a new list will be released every 2 weeks  at 12 noon slt. I’m not entirely sure how the list will get out as of yet. Kaiden passed this first week on to me so I could blog about it. As soon as I find out more I’ll let you know! Onto the goodies!

First stop was Baby Cakes and I picked up these darling dresses for $200L. There’s a very good chance they’re all out now. When I stopped by this morning there were only 2 more left after I bought mine.

Peqe put out this cute denim dress for $300L. As of this morning there are still 11 copies left so hurry and get yours!

Ibizarre has this springy floral tunic and capri jeans for $250L. I had to edit the top a bit to fit over my boobs since there are no shirt layers but it’s still so cute! Again, as of about 6 am slt 26 more were still left.

Hurry! Go get your almost 1 of a kind items before they’re gone!

Pacific Crisis Fundraiser

While I’ve meant to blog this one for awhile; rl and the color challenge had me sidetracked and I almost forgot about this. The Pacific Crisis Fundraiser has been going on for a while now. Something like 400 designers have come together in one locationand have out out one of a kind, new, or best selling items with most or all of the proceeds from the sale of their items being given to help out Japan.

This one is particularly close to my heart and I really encourage you to go if you haven’t stopped by already. I have several friends both American and Japanese there who have been affected even minorly by the earthquake and tsunami. John* is 2  hours from the majority of the devastation and is still hit by regular blackouts as a result of the earthquake. He ‘s not going to come back to the US for another month yet so he can help out. Mia’s* father-in-law’s house was damaged in the earthquake.

There are so many amazing things to buy there and it all goes to a country definitely in need.  Almost all the items are 100% donation. A select few are 80%. I tried to only pick items that are a full donation to the PCF.

From Exile comes this beautiful hair “Sakura” in 4 different colors for $200L.

Insatiable Fashions put out this Lia dress in two styles for $150L. The one shown below and white with black paisley print.

This darling flower-like dress Gojiscus dress is from Magoa at $140L. I think I’ll be wearing this one for awhile 🙂

BOUNCE put out this CELIA springy, flirty, white dress at $200L with several different options to wear it. I’ve shown 2 of them below. I think this one is a 50% donation? I forget now >.< It’s still awesome though.

I absolutely love this Hope necklace from Statique. It’s an exclusive release for the PCF priced at $199L.  This one went right into my favorites folder. Along with the cashmere scoop neck blouse from justB which is $99L. LOVE them!

The Pacific Crisis Fundraiser goes on until April 10th so there’s still a week and a half to run over and pick up some awesome items to help out Japan!

52 Weeks of Color Challenge – White

This has been by far one of the most difficult weeks for me not because of the color – I have so much white in my closet it’s insane – but because of 1. my “no dresses” rule for this week, and 2. because I pulled my husband into doing it with me.

I spent some time this week reflecting on my blog and the challenge. I noticed how many dresses I blog –  which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. SL has brought out my feminine side because I really love wearing dresses. However, part of my decision to blog was so that I could kinda be pushed outside my comfort zone fashion wise. The point was to start trying both new styles and new designers  to stretch myself a bit and I’ve been rather lazy with that. Doing this color challenge has sent me places I wouldn’t necessarily have thought to shop before unless someone else directed me there. I love that I’ve discovered new designers and have added several landmarks to my favorites folder. On the converse of that 90% of my blog posts involve at least 1 dress if not more. So here I am pushing myself out of my usual fashion and into something different.

Trying to get my husband Therathe to participate was another challenge. The actual convincing of him didn’t take much effort. A bit of eyelash batting and booty shaking and he was on board. The difficulty was the hour and a half spent shopping trying to find just the right white outfit for him which ended up being just a white polo from Alphamale. Apparently, he really doesn’t “do” white, especially not white pants.  I suppose if I had tried a bit harder I could have persuaded him into white shoes as well but I was too tired. Oh well. I still love him even though he wouldn’t put on white pants for me.

Not looking forward to next week. Banana Mania? Really? I didn’t even know that was color! In fact, I’m not even sure what color it is based off the strip but I’m assuming it’s some type of yellow????? Banana = yellow, sort of makes sense. But what’s a challenge without unusual unknown colors.

Long Black Weekend

Yesterday Aleida Rhode announced a “Long Black Weekend” sale at her store ALEIDA where everything black or charcoal is just 50L until Sunday. I love her clothes  so I immediately ran over to go shopping even though I don’t wear tons of black. I picked up several amazing things including a pair of boots I’ve been drooling over for awhile but have been too cheap to buy.  Every girl needs at least one little black dress and this one makes 4 for me. I can never have enough LBD’s and I absolutely love these boots. I haven’t taken them off yet!

I picked up the Bashanti shirt in charcoal for 50L and 2 other colors at full price. Elegant, sassy, and a little bit naughty all at the same time since it’s sheer. Not usually one for showing off my nips but this shirt was too pretty to pass up!

This bikini is a fairly recent release and I paired it up with my boots which again, I can’t bear to take off! Not that it’s warm enough for a bikini yet but when the time comes I’ll be ready!

ALEDIA makes gorgeous couture clothing and I’ll probably go and pick up a few more things before the weekend is over. One can’t have too much black in your wardrobe right?

52 Weeks of Color Challenge – Sky Blue

Spring is here finally! Well at least in SL it is. Hooray for no more brown and  onto cheery colors! Double hooray because this week’s color is a blue! Now if only spring would come like this in my RL and not this yucky warm/cold inbetweeness crap weather. But spring is coming! I can feel it…well that and I’m noticing that student drivers are starting to become a force on the roads. *sigh* Anyway, onto sky blue!

Fashion For Life

In this day and age I think it’s hard not to be touched by cancer in some way even if only indirectly. A relative, a friend, a co-worker, or a friend of a friend, etc. I’m sure you’ve been hearing all about the Fashion For Life sale and fundraiser and if you haven’t gone to check it out you definitely should. You have until the 22nd to check out the hauntingly beautiful black and white sims. Not only are there amazing pieces many are created in exclusive colors or styles just for this event. But more importantly, you’re shopping for a good cause because all proceeds go to the SL Relay for Life . More information available at http://fashionforlifesl.com. Here’s some of the things available.

52 Weeks of Color Challenge – Umber

This week’s color is umber – another earthy tone. *sigh* I love browns and all but I’m ready for some spring colors.

One of the great things about this challenge is that it’s opened my eyes to a whole realm of new colors, stores, and clothes I wouldn’t have otherwise used. On the other hand it makes me want to pull my hair out sometimes like this week. I was excited at first, thinking I could pull off umber without any hitches or hiccups. But taking a second look at the outfit I planned made me second guess myself. It’s kinda umber-ish, plus it was in my closet already,  plus I’m trying not to buy new things plus it matches my mood and the weather today. And after all the hemming and hawing I decided I really liked what I had picked so I’m going with it. Hooray for sky blue next week and Luna, I’m begging here…no more browns!!!!
