A Fresh RE-start

Once again I’m back…this time for real (I think) lol. While I had fully intended to be blogging regularly by mid-November last year, RL and SL stress caught up with me, so I took an unintended break from blogging and from SL. Looking back, I think I got too caught up and overwhelmed with all the events and other things I was invited to blog and didn’t know how to balance my blogging and my life. Between that and dealing with issues at my work and plain being sick, it was more than enough to drive me crazy. I am back now and making a few changes and try and simplify this a little. First off, I’m going to try and “schedule” blogging. Well, schedule probably isn’t the right word but the general idea I’m going for is that I’m making myself post at least once a week instead of doing 3 or 4 a day or even a week. Second, I’m not going to apply to any events or do a whole lot of blogger pack things right now, at least until I get my sea legs back under me, so-to-speak. Third, I’m giving Kaiden more blogging time. I want to diversify a little bit and with the way she dresses – a little bit edgier and funkier than I do – I think it’ll add some nice added interest. I love her style and I wish I had the balls to wear some of the stuff she does.

Enough rambling though and onto the clothes! Since I haven’t logged in pretty much since last fall, I had to catch up on all the new releases. Let’s just say I spent a pretty penny updating my wardrobe lol. (Therathe is so going to kill me when he finds out how much I spent! Eeps!) Here’s to a fresh re-start with a new hair, skin, clothes – even a tattoo! (I feel like such a wild woman!) At some point I’ll have to bust out my new feet and hands too lol.

The darling freckled skin – perfect for gingers, I might add – is currently a GG at Al Vulo! (It’s free to join if you’re not a member.) I went wild and added a tattoo from CoLLisions. I’m not normally big on tats in SL but I have a not-so-secret love for all things Asian and Oriental. Since that’s my heritage I just had to wear it.

I Wear Teal…

Wear teal… in memory of those who can no longer.

Wear teal… who have made it through and lived to tell.

Wear teal… to raise awareness of this silent and deadly disease that affects women because so many still do not know much about it.

I wear teal…¬†because it’s the right thing to do.

In case you didn’t know, teal is the color of Ovarian Cancer Awareness month, which happens to be September. I only found out a short while ago and I wish I had known sooner. While this month is rapidly drawing to a close there is still one more day. One more day left to educate yourself or others about this silent killer that is still under promoted but is ¬†cslowly gaining steam. I’ll admit there is still a lot I don’t know about ovarian cancer. It took my friend’s mom from her and now I’ve met another woman, a survivor (you know who you are). You can educate yourself here:¬†http://www.ovariancancer.org/.¬†On Saturday I will put on pink for October, but until then, I wear teal.

Photos

I’ve been looking around at all the amazing photos on peoples blogs and I have to say I’m suffering a bit from photo envy. My poor little computer isn’t high tech enough for a fancy graphics card and hard as I work to take great pics I still feel like mine fall a bit flat. Especially since there are so many amazingly realistic ones out there that have shadows and not jagged edges. I did get the chance this past weekend to use a friend’s computer for my color challenge pics and I loved every second of it.¬† Here I am – being honest –¬† even if it is a bit silly feeling envious of virtual pics.

Peeved

One of my big pet peeves…cheaply made clothing at expensive prices. My semi-new sweater which I paid $40 (on sale!) for in RL has a hole in it. I’ve worn it 3 times now and just washed it this last week (following the directions on the tag) and now there’s a hole in it. A pretty decent sized one too. I’m not sure if that can even be repaired. I took it back today receipt and all, to see if the store would do anything like a refund or an exchange even an apology saying I just got a very rare crap piece…even though I really didn’t expect them to. Nada. Which I suppose I shouldn’t be irritated but I did kind of hope for an apology at the very least.¬† I’m not sure I want to shop there again which bums me out because I really like their clothes over priced as they are.

Hello world!

Hi everyone! I find it a bit crazy that I’m blogging. I never pictured myself as one to write about my life SL or RL. In fact I don’t consider myself to be much of a writer at all but still…I’m here. I’m still not sure what it is that prompted me to blog but it’s an idea that has been rattling around in my head for a few weeks now. You never know til you try right? So I’m giving this a whirl not knowing where it’ll end up but frankly I don’t care so much. I’m just here to have fun and share a little bit of myself. It’s a journey and I hope you’ll come along for the ride.
